Chota

Chota, meaning "small" in Hindi, is an intimate bistro located in the heart of Jerusalem — a space that delicately balances the city’s timeless spirit with a fresh, modern perspective.

The design preserves and celebrates the essence of Jerusalem, starting from the original Jerusalem stone flooring, which was carefully restored to maintain its authentic texture and historical presence. This grounding element anchors the space in its local context, while the surrounding materials and details introduce a lighter, contemporary layer.
At the heart of the material palette lies a deliberate contrast: brushed stainless steel surfaces — used in the kitchen, bar, and detailing — bring a clean, modern sharpness to the space. Their reflective quality subtly interacts with the stone and wood, creating a dynamic visual rhythm between past and present.

Warm wood accents, soft lighting, and clean lines complete the atmosphere, creating a space that feels both rooted and renewed.
The result is a thoughtful dialogue between old and new, between cultural memory and modern hospitality.

Chota may be small in scale, but it offers a rich spatial experience — one that honors its setting while welcoming all who enter.
